Job Listing: Emergency Dispatcher
Brief Job Description: GREAT FALLS, Montana – We are looking to complete our team of Emergency Services Dispatchers with personable and motivated people seeking to serve their community. Dispatchers work in the City of Great Falls and Cascade County 911 Emergency Communications Center. They receive calls, organize, prioritize and communicate both emergency and non-emergency requests to 24 law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical agencies. Dispatchers must enter information into a computer quickly and accurately while listening to one or more phones, as well as radio traffic, and are counted on to apply their training and sound judgment to critical situations.
The position starts at $31,744.17 per year and can increase to $34,351.78 rapidly. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, and enrollment in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). There is a one year probationary period.
Job Requirement’s: Candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent), effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to type 40 words per minute, sound moral character, and pass a background investigation and a psychological evaluation.
